We’re looking for a motivated, ambitious, and analytical professional to guide Lev clients/borrowers through the loan closing process. The loan closer will assure better oversight of loan closings and documentation. The closer will work within the execution team to move transactions from term sheet signed through closing. The loan closer will guarantee that all documents are properly executed and received by loan and credit operations in a timely manner. The loan closer is responsible for keeping all parties informed, on time, engaged, and up to date at all times.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Guide borrowers who have decided to obtain financing through the fulfillment of their loan funding conditions
- Handle a pipeline of 10-20 active deals in the closing stage
- Act as a liaison between borrower’s advisors and all parties involved in mortgage loan transactions (e.x., insurance agents, CPAs, attorneys) to collect information required to satisfy closing conditions (e.x., entity docs, sale agreements, bank statements)
- Manage and resolve any concerns, problems, and documentation issues
- Work with the sponsor and the lender to ensure all necessary documentation has been provided and pre-closing requirements are met
- Work with Legal Counsel, Lender, and Title company to make sure that loan approval is received, and all pertinent points are understood by counsel
What We're Looking For
- You have a Bachelor’s Degree
- Must have 3-4 years of loan closing/processing experience within commercial real estate
- You have extreme attention to detail and an appetite to be better
- You are passionate about real estate, you really love what you do
- You are proactive, take initiative, and work successfully under pressure
- You have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- You're able to work from our NYC office at least 3x per week
- (Bonus) You have experience working as a loan processor/loan closer at a bridge or construction lender
