Job Description The Competitive Insights VP for J.P. Morgan Payments will have a wide-ranging impact on the organization; the individual will provide senior leaders perspective on developments in payments and transaction banking. The VP will develop recommendations and analyses around Treasury offerings in the market, sharing insights with various teams in charge of investment spend priorities, product development, innovation, client positioning, and even business structure. Through thorough reviews of strategic topics, market trends, and competitor activities, the VP will determine what those trends mean for J.P. Morgan and how we should respond. The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated ability to synthesize relevant information from diverse areas and deep understanding of the transactional banking market. A successful candidate in this role will be curious, a focused listener, highly strategic and analytical, and able to communicate insights and recommendations effectively at senior levels within an organization.
Essential duties include:
• Executive Leadership Engagement: Interact with executive leadership in advisory role around transaction banking topics
• Stay Abreast of Trends & Intelligence: Monitor and understand key trends in payments and transactional banking at global and regional levels
• Deliver Weekly News Synopsis to the Business: Deliver weekly news updates to executive leadership and their teams across J.P. Morgan Payments
• Create In-depth Analyses of Competitors / for Special Projects with Recommended Actions for JP Morgan: Identify key competitive actions and develop analyses with input from colleagues across the organization
• Thrive in a Collaborative/Collegial Environment: Coordinate with Global Strategic Intelligence, Marketing, Proposals, Sales and other research professionals in other LOBs to build synergies and package findings
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years' experience in payments, 2+ years in strategy, consulting or intelligence gathering
• Ability to communicate concisely and effectively through reports and presentations across levels within an organization
• Ability to effectively listen and understand explicit and implicit business needs and objectives
• A desire to do whatever it takes to solve complex problems, applying a strong work ethic and sense of urgency and ownership
• Strong analytic and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data into digestible insights and communicate findings clearly with confidence
