Responsibilities

As an Investment Operations Specialist on our Global Client Operations Team, you'll independently perform procedures, analysis and report preparation to support the lifecycle of investments in a global infrastructure. You'll identify and resolve problems following established guidelines; raise complex problems or issue to senior team members; conduct special analyses and/or studies as well as handle data activities including fund reporting, portfolio validation and analysis, compliance adherence to regulatory guidelines. Support global investment initiatives through participation in projects, process reviews and/or system enhancements.

Here are additional examples of the types of this you'll do:

  • Under general direction, independently execute routine & intermediate reports and resolve problems. Establish new securities, compliance rules, new accounts, and or new reports to ensure readiness for trading, reconciliation, settlement and/or the client reporting process. Identify and resolve issues associated with client data, trade breaks, reconciliation breaks, and/or compliance breaches. Prepare reports and maintain controls in alignment with internal policies and clients' needs.
  • Interface with internal and external personnel including senior operations staff, marketing, sales, legal, relationship management, IT, banks, brokers, custodians, portfolio managers, and/or traders to obtain information and resolve problems.
  • Enhance understanding of Principal Global Investors' products, team procedures, and clients' needs through self-initiated research, participation in available training programs and involvement in on-going investment activities.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in accounting, finance, economics or business required, plus a minimum of 1+ years' work experience in investment/mutual fund operations or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of financial services and investment related terminology preferred


Successful candidate will have the following:

  • Good analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, time management and communication skills required
  • Detailed oriented
  • Client service orientation, the ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven, team-based environment and the ability to produce accurate and timely information with limited supervision
  • Able to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively and be flexible as business needs change



Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Minimum Salary

USD $41,650.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary

USD $80,400.00/Yr.
