Financial Analyst
Role Description
As a Financial Analyst focused on Revenue and Growth, you will play a crucial role in areas such as subscription revenue forecasting, billing forecasting, generating strategic initiatives ideas, driving analytical insights, and evaluating resource investments. Your work will play a crucial part in ensuring Dropbox makes sound financial and strategic decisions that drive sustainable business growth. You’ll get substantial senior leadership exposure, focusing real-time on the highest priority business issues, and being plugged into every facet of our business.
Responsibilities
- Assist in monthly reporting, quarterly forecast, annual budgeting, long term planning and strategic planning processes
- Support annual budgeting exercise by partnering with the rest of the FP&A team to analyze past performance and provide financial projections
- Provide commentary for actuals vs forecast analysis for revenue & billings on a monthly basis and investigate drivers of significant variances
- Collaborate with business partners in Product, Finance, Accounting and Business Strategy to obtain inputs for the budgeting and forecasting process
- Support the continuous improvement of the financial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes within the team to improve efficiency and quality
- Assist in Opex forecast , working with key business partners to support cost management and identifying potential cost mitigation levers
- Act as a business partner to leadership and executives in supporting their business decisions through the interpretation of financial information
- Ad hoc reporting and special projects as assigned
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a fast-growing tech environment preferably a SAAS based company or investment banking preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
- Knowledge of GAAP and basic understanding of financial statements highly desirable
- You've demonstrated excellence in financial modeling and analytics
- Proficient in excel, and MS office applications
- Strong analytical ability, able to clearly link financial results to strategic and operational activities
- Basic understanding of SQL
- You sweat the details and maintain a high level of integrity in your work
- You're a self-starter who enthusiastically drives projects
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships

For candidates hired in San Francisco metro, New York City metro, or Seattle metro, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $94,600 - $111,300 - $128,000 if you are assessed at the IC2 level. If you are instead assessed at the IC3 level, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $118,200 - $139,000 - $159,900.
For candidates hired in the following locations: Austin (TX) metro, Chicago metro, California (outside SF metro), Colorado, Connecticut (outside NYC metro), Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York (outside NYC metro), Oregon, Pennsylvania (outside NYC or DC metro), Washington (outside Seattle metro) and Washington DC metro, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $85,200 - $100,200 - $115,200 if you are assessed at the IC2 level. If you are instead assessed at the IC3 level, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $106,300 - $125,100 - $143,900.
For candidates hired in all other US locations, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for this role is currently $75,700 - $89,000 - $102,400 if you are assessed at the IC2 level. If you are instead assessed at the IC3 level, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $94,500 - $111,200 - $127,900.

Dropbox takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location/metropolitan area, skillset, and peer compensation. Dropbox uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location to determine which metropolitan pay range we use.
Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
