Position Summary

Credit One Bank is looking for an Accounting Manager who will oversee management of general ledger and related processes, project coordination, staff supervision, process evaluation, and re-engineering.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

• Oversees management of general ledger, month-end close and related processes
• Performs detailed level review of certifications and ensures timely resolution of reconciling items
• Performs detailed review of journal entries and ensures accuracy and completeness of supporting schedules
• Responsible for knowledge of all duties and functions performed by staff, as well as the timely review, evaluation and coaching of staff
• Identifies opportunities for automation within financial areas; propose, coordinate, and implement procedures as approved
• Participates in development and implementation of new processes
• Develops and reviews procedures and practices for appropriate check and balances to ensure accuracy, propriety, and efficiency in the recording of financial data
• Ensures timely preparation of certifications
• Utilizes analytical tools to identify trends for potential problems or opportunities
• Manages and participates in company projects as requested
• Performs reviews and analysis of financial data to ensure timely, accurate, and complete financial statements; provide variance explanations as appropriate
• Assists in complex reconciliations as necessary
• Assists in providing support and documentation necessary for internal and external audits
• Assists in monitoring and implementation of internal controls assigned in order to be in compliance with FDICIA standards
• Performs other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the accounting field
• 5+ years of general ledger management experience (must include coordination of monthly close, complex reconciliation, daily financial statement preparation, performance of internal controls, and audit substantiation/certifications)
• 3 years of supervision experience
• Previous process improvement/automation experience
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Advanced Excel experience including macros and data mining skills (Discoverer, Doc Analyzer)
• Highly analytical
• 10-key by touch
• Banking and credit card accounting a plus
