Director, Strategic Investments, FIV Venture Investment
The Director of Strategic Investments within the FIV Venture Investment group will support the assessment of strategic fit, investment diligence, and select post-investment engagement for investments in innovative early-stage global startups. This position will offer a front row seat to the future of Fintech and Commerce through the evaluation of numerous innovative startups. As a member of the Strategic Investments team, you will be specifically responsible for the diligence of opportunities prior to investment approval as well as partnering with the FIV Fintech Advocacy group to engage with startups post-investment.
Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial diligence of startup investments prior to investment decision
• Interact with key investors and startup customers to capture insights and feedback
• Engage with FIV and FIS stakeholders to finalize partnership opportunities
• Develop all required materials needed to reach an investment decision
• Collaborate closely with Fintech Advocacy on select post-investment activities
• Act as a trusted advisor to each startup on future investment opportunities
• Provide connections to startups and relevant VC or Corporate investment partners

Essential Skills

• 7-10 years post undergraduate experience, including working in or with medium/large corporations
• Familiarity with early-stage strategic investment activities
• Passion for new technology that will shape the future of finance
• Strong attention to detail and robust analytical skills
• Ability to translate complex information into executive ready insights
• Comfortable working in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment
• Capable of managing multiple deals running simultaneously

Added bonus if you have:

• Experience within corporate or venture capital investment
• Excellent writing/grammar/editing skills
• Previous sales experience, contract experience or investment experience
