Responsibilities

Job Summary / Purpose
This role is responsible for oversight, integration and standardization of the CommonSpirit FP&A software systems (LRSFP, Capital Planning/Tracking, Rolling Forecast (including special applications needed for the more detailed Q4 forecast), Bridge Planning, and related key reports). This role requires ensuring the legacy Dignity and CHI FP&A software applications continue to function effectively while defining both near-term enhancements and future state, next-generation tools that are CommonSpirit-wide.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  • Direct staff and processes to ensure the proper monitoring and maintenance of all CommonSpirit Syntellis/ Axiom FP&A information and projection systems so that they can reliably produce accurate actual and projected information for CommonSpirit financial analytics. This includes the processes to monitor and maintain data integrity in these systems.
  • The FP&A systems this role is responsible to direct, oversee and improve include Long Range Financial Planning, Rolling Forecasting, Capital Planning and Capital Tracking, key detail applications as needed for Dynamic Planning, Bridge Planning, and Dignity Budget Variance Reports (with related Axiom utilities).
  • Monitor software upgrades available; make recommendations as to timing in collaboration with FP&A system leadership, and test/ successfully implement upgrades in an efficient manner.
  • Direct and inform the system/ technical aspects of the design and remaining conversions of the existing legacy Axiom FP&A systems to a single CommonSpirit platform, structure and standard functionality, working collaboratively with system FP&A leaders.
  • Set up the overall Axiom system to interact appropriately with the new Infor Global Ledger system to be introduced (this applies to all FP&A applications).
  • Identify and promote ways for the different Axiom applications to interact more effectively, maximizing synergies and efficiencies between them.
  • Direct staff and processes to ensure strong reliability in the software systems, with standard and timely information updates and interfaces each month.
  • Oversee the provision of an effective CommonSpirit-wide user help desk and Master System User structure for technical issues.
  • Provide systems/ technical leadership in the constant improvement of creative financial planning functionality and effective reporting - what will help the organization at a corporate and/ or market level? How can information provided and/ or analytical reports and formats be enhanced?
  • Promote desired future state software platform and functionality improvements with Syntellis/ Axiom software development leaders (all applications).
  • Lead the evaluation of technical aspects and solutions in the development of the future state Beyond Budgeting ("dynamic planning") type systems.



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education and Experience
Minimum Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or information systems required. Minimum of five years of leadership experience (management role) responsible for major data systems, data integrity and FP&A software products (preferably Syntellis/ Axiom). Five years of detailed experience with acute healthcare financial dynamics and typical source system data (GL, payroll systems, decision support/ patient accounting, revenue cycle, etc.). Significant experience leading the development of effective data interfaces between systems.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
Able to develop creative solutions to complex issues involving FP&A software applications and specific special project needs that arise.

Demonstrated ability to organize and direct a team; collaboration skills with other CommonSpirit finance leaders and staff are essential.
