Job Description 

This position provides financial leadership for one of the Payment Services Business Units. The business units are key contributors to Discover's strategic goals and company leadership relies on the business unit to play a critical role in driving the company's growth. This role involves serving as the Chief Financial Officer for International Markets and Global Business Development (IM/GBD) providing strategic financial support including planning & analysis, B2B partnership deal modeling, and developing long-term strategic plans. Responsible for managing the strategic direction and implementation of Finance reporting and analytics. Supports business management and strategic initiatives through managing the critical thought necessary to utilizing financial analysis, analytical support, communication and data.

Responsibilities:

• Serves as CFO for International Markets & Business Development and primary liaison for areas within finance including accounting, treasury, and investor relations. Be a key member of IM/GBD Team to influence, discuss, and review business performance.
• Develops, reviews, and independently analyzes deal structure, projections, and pricing to maximize profitability, mitigate financial risk, and ensure alignment to strategy. Provide strategic advice and financial analysis for investment decisions, new and existing deals, and development of new products.
• Leads and plays a critical role in development of long-term financial strategy. Provides holistic consultative support for new business initiatives, development of new products and entry into new markets, and problem-solving guidance for various ad hoc issues.
• Drives operating efficiency through prudent expense management. Develops initiatives and actions to lower expenses and achieve long-term business expense targets to remain competitive.
• Provides strategic advice to senior leadership regarding financial direction of the business including key risks and opportunities. Develop financial projections and report business performance to drive decision making.
• Leads the financial forecast and planning for all key drivers, revenues and expenses.
• Primary owner of financial models that are used for baseline and scenario planning. Work with key stakeholders to ensure proper model governance. Utilizes an analytical approach to develop insightful financial analysis. Present complex findings and corresponding recommendations with supporting data to business partners and senior management.
• Collaborates with business partners to achieve strong results. Lead and develop a team of high caliber financial managers and analysts.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or related field
• 8+ years of experience in planning, financial analysis, strategy, or related, including people management

Preferred Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in planning, financial analysis, strategy, or related, including people management
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
