The Director of Contract Strategy & Pricing will lead all activities aimed at building and shaping pricing and contracting strategies for Akili’s new products. This is a key role as we establish our Market Access strategy for our flagship product, EndeavorRx, and lay the foundation for the future of Prescription Digital Therapeutics.  This position will report into the Vice-President of Market Access and be a part of the Market Access Leadership Team. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the pricing activities for inline and pipeline Prescription Digital Therapeutic (PDT) products for the treatment of Cognitive Impairment
  • Define the pricing, tendering, contracting and life-cycle strategies for Akili’s products
  • Work hand in hand with Operations, HEOR, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs and the Brand Teams, to ensure the pricing strategy is aligned and to the brand strategies
  • Serving as a key support provide subject matter expertise to the VP Market Access
  • Define the optimal early Pricing strategies, Tendering and Contract Strategies in partnership with the Market Access, Pricing and HEOR organization and Commercial
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of fundamental principles underpinning Life Science and Device industry pricing and access at the different phases of the product lifecycle to make recommendations to business on the selection of appropriate approaches
  • Ensure responsible and effective pricing practices, protocols and operations to ensure an efficient and compliant organization
  • Inform price-setting through pricing research using relevant analytical approaches such as game-theory, behavioral economic insights, etc.
  • Determine optimal innovative or Market Based pricing strategies through the application of price setting methodologies, product label and internal product positioning
  • Utilize in depth knowledge of innovative pricing models and managed entry schemes to address payer needs
  • Generate pricing solutions for affordability considerations (e.g. tiered pricing)
  • Develop deep knowledge of competitor and other digital therapeutics/medical device access strategies
  • Contribute to the globalization of our therapeutics to populations across new and emerging markets

Qualifications

  • M.S. / MBA required; advanced degree in life sciences
  • 10+ years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industries or medical device industry
  • 7+ years of experience in Market Access function with national direct responsibility for Pricing, Reimbursement, Market Access, or Policy
  • Strong Scientific background and understanding in early pipeline products
  • Experience in developing plan and market access/early price recommendations
  • Experience developing and leading implementation of strategic pricing, tendering, contracting and negotiation
  • Exposure to global pricing policy development
  • Thorough knowledge of evidence-based medicine standards, patient reported outcomes, global and local healthcare policies and their developments, key pricing & market access regulations and practices 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to influence and effectively engage internal and external audiences
  • Strong sense of priorities and ability to handle various projects simultaneously, sometimes with short timelines
  • Strong diplomatic & interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire respect and trust from others
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence without authority
  • Change Leadership - The ability to demonstrate support and drive for innovation and organizational transformation
