Our growing and profitable technology company is seeking an experienced Controller to lead our financial reporting and accounting functions. Reporting to the CFO as their key operating partner, the Controller will work to maximize the Company’s financial operations by designing, implementing, and enforcing best practices. They will be responsible for development and implementation of the company’s control processes and accounting policies, maintaining the general ledger, leading the monthly close process, preparing monthly financial statements, overseeing budgeting, managing tax for the LLC, managing global treasury and FX, and leading international financial operations including transactions, tax, financial controls, & compliance.


The Controller will work closely with other departments to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures. They will work closely with the company’s General Counsel to ensure that the company is compliant from a legal and regulatory perspective. The Controller will work with the CFO to institute and manage annual budgets. They will lead the implementation of an ERP system and support forecasting. They will manage an outside bookkeeper and, as the business grows, the Controller will be responsible for building and managing the transaction team. The Controller will also be the lead interface with our audit and tax firms.




What you can expect to do:

  • Operations
  • Oversee and manage the international financial operations of the company including transactions, tax, the monthly close, reporting, and associated analysis
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Manage global treasury and foreign exchange operations
  • Build and manage the transaction team

  • Compliance &Controls
  • Develop and implement rigorous financial controls to maintain compliance with financial policies and procedures, as well as current and anticipated legal and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that financial records are accurate, complete, and in compliance with GAAP
  • Manage tax compliance for the LLC, including for Passthrough Entities and Partners
  • Lead all activities related to our external auditors to ensure a successful annual financial review and eventually an audit

  • Process & Systems
  • Identify issues and opportunities to improve financial processes, deliver recommendations and then draft, socialize, and implement solutions
  • Analyze accounts and suggest improvements to reduce costs, increase efficiency, remove manual touch points, and increase profits
  • In cooperation with the executive leadership team, institute, implement and manage the budgeting process
  • Implement and maintain an ERP system

  • Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • Active CPA certification is required

  • Experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of Controller experience is required, including leading international financial operations (transactions, tax, financial controls, & compliance)
  • Minimum of 5-7 additional years of experience in corporate accounting or other relevant experience required
  • Experience working in financial operations at a services company with $20M or more in revenue that has seen steady growth to $50M and beyond
  • Demonstrated ability to grow and lead a high-performance team of finance professionals.
  • Proven track record of implementing and managing a budgeting processExperience implementing and maintaining an ERP system
  • Experience with global treasury and FX management
  • Experience with managing tax compliance for LLCs

  • Skills
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and use information technology applications and resources, in particular strong understanding of ERP solutions and financial systems
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and technical skills to lead the day-to-day activities of the team and build relationships with the extended organization 
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
  • Strong organizational and management skills

  • Proficient in Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel
