We’re looking for a remote Controller to support our team. The ideal candidate will creativity solve problems around maintaining our existing financial models, while also proposing improvements to make them even better. They’ll help drive growth by effectively researching the appropriate accounting treatment of various transactions and relevant accounting standards updates. They’ll be radically candid in communicating with executives across the company, helping them plan and execute. They’ll be constantly learning about QuickBooks online integrations and automations to increase efficiency and maximize functionality of the platform. They’ll own direct weekly updates in the monthly close including departmental P&L reporting, the annual review, and all tax filings.

As our Controller, you’ll understand how the internet is rapidly growing and evolving and what that means for our business. You’ll spend many of your days monitoring and managing cash and credit card balances, making disbursement decisions, maintaining our cash forecast, and owning our relationship with our lender. Other days, you’ll oversee payroll reporting as well as Accounts Receiveable, Accounts Payable, and employee reimbursement processes. While spotting and analyzing trends to see the bigger picture in accounting, financial, and other data integrity issues doesn’t fall solely on your shoulders, you will be a critical part of it. You will:

• Maintain existing financial models while proposing improvements to make them even better
• Monitor and manage cash and credit card balances, make disbursement decisions, maintain our cash forecast, and own our relationship with our lender
• Work within QuickBooks Online, taking advantage of integrations and automations to increase efficiency and maximize functionality of the platform
• Own and support the monthly close process with accuracy, efficiency, and clarity  
• Manage and oversee our books, records, and controls 
• Use your careful eye for detail to check for accounting, financial, and other data integrity issues, all while spotting and analyzing trends to see the bigger picture
• Develop ad hoc reporting for a variety of scenarios, consolidating and summarizing information quickly
• Act as the administrator on multiple platforms including Bill.com, Expensify, and QuickBooks
• Maintain all balance sheet schedules
• Direct weekly updates, the monthly close including departmental P&L reporting, the annual review, and all tax filings
• Oversee payroll reporting as well as Accounts Receiveable, Accounts Payable, and employee reimbursement processes
