American National is seeking an AVP and Life & Annuity Actuary of Modeling for our Galveston, TX location. This role is also available 100% remotely. This role is responsible for management of the modeling team. Modeling team performs cash flow testing, ALM modeling, plan projection, as well as supporting models for pricing and valuation.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee company plan projections and re-forecast for life and annuity business.
• Ensure strong model governance.
• Build and maintain consistent and efficient models adhering to best practices.
• Drive liquidity and ALM reporting to senior management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.

• Eight to 10 years of experience.

• Two to five years of supervisory/management experience.

• Additional Qualifications:
  • FSA or experienced ASA
  • Ability to present and explain results to senior management
  • Experience leading a team and collaborating with others
  • Proven insurance business knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary groups and all organizational levels
  • Ability to lead and develop engaged, high performing teams

Preferences:

• Experience with GGY AXIS strongly preferred
