Keyser Capital is searching for an Associate to work on a team responsible for overseeing the existing $1.4 billion non-media private equity/real estate portfolio. The private equity team will develop deep industry knowledge in targeted sectors and source new control position opportunities through their broad professional network. In addition to sourcing traditional private equity investments this team will use their network of independent sponsor relationships to originate suitable investment opportunities. This strategy will provide for maximum resource allocation and flexibility. We will aspire to be a reliable source of capital adding value to the sponsor by saving them significant time and hassle in their equity raise, enabling them to focus greater energy on sourcing investments and building businesses.

Summary of Responsibilities, Essential Duties and Expectations

You will be responsible for financial analysis associated with supporting new investment activity and portfolio monitoring. Specific responsibilities of this position include:

  • Perform analyses and financial modeling for potential opportunities, including cash flow and return analysis
  • Prepare new deal executive summaries and support the preparation of Investment Committee memorandums
  • Assist in various aspects of due diligence including risk assessment, sensitivity analysis, and market/competitive industry analysis
  • Assist with ongoing monitoring and projects for portfolio companies, including compiling company financial data, performing periodic financial analysis, and participating in periodic board/company meeting
  • Interaction with management of portfolio companies and financial sponsors



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's and/or advance degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a relevant discipline
  • Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, investing, lending, transaction advisory services or other financial services activities
  • Candidate must excel in accounting and finance, with the ability to analyze financial statements in depth and possess superior financial modeling skills
  • Team player with strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Above average Excel capabilities
  • Self-starter with ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Potential for and willingness to travel occasionally
