Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Associate Director – Financial Analytics and CAPEX to join our FP&A team at our Boston, MA headquarters. As leader of our Finance Analytics and CAPEX team, you will design, align, and implement analytics and reporting capabilities to support key Chewy metrics and insight generation in order to enable leadership to make informed and timely decisions to drive growth and meet strategic financial objectives. You will also lead FP&A processes for Capital investments across the entirety of the enterprise, leading and improving the rigor of investment decision making and efficient approval process flow. The ideal candidate will be very comfortable managing large sets of data, analyzing customer cohort behavior, have familiarity with various BI and data visualization tools, as well as solid foundation of financial process management and investment ROI thinking.

What You’ll Do:

  • Engage with leadership to provide actionable insights into business drivers, financial performance and risks through improved reporting and ad-hoc analysis
  • Develop a deep understanding of key financial and operational metrics across the organization
  • Effectively lead FP&A analytics transformation strategy by identifying, proposing and executing on standardization and automation of innovative reporting capabilities and sustainable buildout of data visualization
  • Design solutions via co-creation with Finance partners to automate manual reporting and continually improve efficiency in Finance monthly reporting and close processes
  • Ensure data integrity and drive consistent and accurate reporting of Finance data across the organization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Business Analytics, Marketing, Corporate and Commercial Finance, and Accounting) to improve data quality and speed to reporting. Ensure performance is accurately reported.
  • Lead CAPEX FP&A processes including forecasting, performance vs plan, and business partner engagement
  • Lead CAPEX approval process flow, including spending governance forums and automated system approval workflow
  • Effectively manage numerous projects at a given time in a fast paced environment
  • Lead a team including Finance Managers and Senior Financial Analysts

What You’ll Need:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • 7+ years of relevant experience delivering reporting and analytics solutions, preferably supporting a Finance organization; familiarity with an e-commerce or retail business model preferred
  • Strong data visualization skills and familiarity with BI tools and ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
  • Strong process orientation, including managing systems and stakeholders
  • Results-oriented, highly energetic, dynamic individual with hands-on mentality
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort in both early stage and corporate environments
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, and execution-focused
  • Ability to self-start and self-direct work; ability to work independently while managing multiple projects
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them through to completion
  • Position may require travel

Bonus:

  • Experience with BI tools, Hyperion Smartview, Oracle ERP, SQL
