About This Opportunity:

Mosaic’s accounting team is growing and we’re looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support this growth. Reporting into Mosaic’s Controller, the Accounting Manager will play a key role by performing day to day accounting tasks and interfacing with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.


Please Note: The Accounting Manager is a hybrid role based in Arizona, with the expectation to travel to Mosaic’s office in Prescott, Arizona 2 times per month.

  • Intuitive - able to effectively forecast and identify challenges / roadblocks several steps ahead
  • Comfortable with ambiguity - particularly in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Able to work autonomously

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the project manager to develop detailed, cost-effective budgets for projects
  • Performing accounting duties throughout the project, such as preparing invoices, estimating cash flow and signing off on purchase orders
  • Analyzing all transactions and working unforeseen costs into the budget
  • Keeping a record of all project finances for internal/external auditing and tax purposes
  • Preparing cost analyses by interpreting projects' financial data and informationReporting any financial risks and budgetary discrepancies to management for review
  • Researching market trends and projecting construction-related price increases/decreases
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Keeping abreast with both the construction and accounting industry
  • Completing monthly reconciliations for bank accounts and balance sheet/income statement accounts
  • Completing month-end close tasks accurately and on time
  • Preparing reports for Workers Compensation and other annual audits
  • Maintaining accounting ledgers by posting account transactions
  • Verifying accounts by reconciling statements and transaction
  • Resolving discrepancies by investigating documentation, payments or adjustments
  • Assisting with percentage of completion analysis & quarterly financial reports
  • Preparing and filing internal and external wage reports as required
  • Updating accounting procedures on a regular basis
  • Assisting with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for investors and tax agencies
  • Meticulously maintaining all files and records
  • Completing all designated tasks in compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and other internal policies
  • Other duties as assigned by Controller and CFO

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS degree in accounting or related field preferred
  • 4+ years of related experience required
  • Demonstrated experience working for a construction or homebuilding company preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP required
  • Superb Google Suite and Microsoft Office skills required
  • Experience using accounting software QuickBooks, Marks Systems
