The Opportunity

Delaware North Sportservice is searching for an Accounting Manager to join our team at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, you will oversee a variety of accounting functions including performing financial reporting, month end close, consolidating financial results, reviewing reports, and performing accounts payable invoice approvals. As Accounting Manager you will also work with the subsidiary leadership and Global Business Services (Corporate Accounting) team to continuously improve efficacy handoffs or transitions of work.

Responsibilities

• Manages the accounting function at the business unit, including direct supervision of business unit accounting and cash room associates and the management, creation, review, and approval of accounting reports.
• Manages the administration of internal controls and audits of policies and procedures to ensure compliance and high-quality delivery of all services.
• Translates strategy into operational goals and objectives and then executes against those strategies and standards.
• Manages the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes for the business unit.
• Executes the daily revenue reconciliation and journal entries.
• Supports annual plan and projection process for business unit, provides insightful review of year-over-year changes and recommends areas of focus to improve operating margins.
• Leads or assists with ad hoc analyses of the finances and prepares reports to facilitate decision making.
• Collaborate with other teams, functions, and data owners across the company to align on process and data issues and to ensure any required changes to policies, procedures, and processes are implemented.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or associate's degree in business related curriculum with relevant prior accounting experience.
• 3 years' of accounting experience required, previous supervisory experience a plus
• Experience with cash management, inventory control and auditing experience preferred.
• Hospitality / Food Service industry experience highly preferred
• Experience with one or more POS preferred.
• Deep understanding of finance and accounting processes.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Expertise in driving continuous improvement and business process management.
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office and PeopleSoft Financials or similar accounting software.
• Understanding of how to drive effective performance management.
• Facilitation, detailed collaboration, and effective communication.
• Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays to support the event schedules.
