Finance Manager – Automotive Dealership
Job Summary:
As a Finance Manager you will be part of the Finance Department of a dealership. You will be responsible for securing financing for customers in a timely manner, offering Finance and Insurance products, ensuring California legal compliance in all F&I documentation, maximizing dealership profitability through effective sales strategies and maintaining strong relationships with lenders. This role requires you to support automotive sales by building a rapport with customers, following sales processes, and upholding the highest ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Present financing options to customers based on their needs and credit profile.
- Build and maintain relationships with lending institutions to secure competitive financing terms.
- Sell finance and insurance products, including extended warranties, service contracts, GAP insurance, and other items the dealership offers.
- Prepare and review all finance and lease documents for accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Ensure that all deals are closed promptly and accurately for submission to accounting.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and promote a positive buying experience.
- Work closely with the sales team to understand customer needs and structure deals accordingly.
- Keep up to date with new financial products, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
- Have good communication with the dealership’s Sales Manager to make decisions on each deal.

Experience:
- 2–5 years of experience in automotive finance and insurance (F&I) or a related sales/finance role.
- Prior dealership experience strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of auto finance, leasing, and insurance products.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations affecting vehicle sales and finance, including privacy laws, Truth in Lending Act, and Fair Credit Reporting Act.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and compliance skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced sales environment.
- Proficiency with dealership software (e.g., Reynolds & Reynolds, CDK, Dealertrack).
Skills Required
- 2-5 years of experience in automotive finance and insurance or related sales/finance role
- Prior dealership experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of auto finance, leasing, and insurance products
- Knowledge of regulations affecting vehicle sales and finance
