The Team

The Finance Manager will support the Chief Financial Officer in a team of 7. The team will consist of: Chief Financial Officer, Finance Manager, Management Accountant, Accountant, Assistant Accountant and Accounting Officer.

The role 

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the full range of accounting functions, primarily focused on working closeThe ly with relevant stakeholders to prepare and distribute financial and management accounts on a timely basis, and to continually enhance financial processes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain the general ledger, including preparation and review of month-end reconciliations (primarily for the AU and NZ businesses).
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of the Australian trust account including the investigation and rectification of any variances identified through the use of but not limited to SQL queries.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly management reporting packs for all regions.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including but not limited to BAS reporting, payroll tax and Payment Times Reporting Scheme. 
  • Oversee the annual financial audit and assist with the AFSL audit.
  • Prepare the annual budget and reforecasting as required.
  • Process payroll for New Zealand employees in accordance with local legislation.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Finance function and other business units, providing timely and accurate financial support and guidance.
  • Support the development and mentoring of other Finance team members.
  • Undertake ad hoc reporting, project work and analysis as required.

Requirements

To deliver your functional responsibilities, the Finance Manager will ideally have experience working in commerce. In addition the candidate should demonstrate:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience
  • CA qualification
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including software capitalisation and financial statement preparation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and confidence in stakeholder management
  • Ability to remain agile and dynamically reprioritise workload in a fast-paced environment, while consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of SQL.
  • Experience using a variety of systems and software, including MYOB Acumatica, SQL and PowerBI.
