About the Role

This is a hands-on finance role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, tech-savvy environment. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the company’s finances and act as a key contact for all financial and commercial matters. New Icon is part of Linebreak, a specialist in real-time systems and this role will cover the finance management of our parent company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records in Xero
  • Daily reconciliation of bank accounts and Xero
  • Process accounts payable and receivable
  • Upload and organise all finance documentation
  • Raise and chase invoices (credit control)
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
  • Oversee payroll processes, working with external payroll providers
  • Manage pension contributions and monthly uploads
  • Prepare and execute daily/weekly/monthly payment runs
  • Handle staff expense claims
  • Support the wider team with financial reporting and commercial queries
  • Assist with accounting journals and month-end processes

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a similar finance role, with appropriate professional / educational qualifications
  • Proficient in Xero, and Google Sheets/ Microsoft Excel
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
  • Comfortable working in Google Workspaces and Microsoft Office 365
  • Digitally confident, with a curious AI-first mindset 
  • Curiosity to learn and improve admin systems and ways of working across Linebreak and New Icon

Skills Required
