About the role
We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Finance Manager to oversee all aspects of our finance operations. This role is critical in ensuring the financial health of the business, supporting key decision-making, and improving systems as we scale beyond our startup phase.
The Finance Manager will report directly to the CEO and Directors, and will work closely with a small team to manage the company’s financial operations, including bookkeeping, accounting, financial analysis, and controls.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
- Ensure efficient processing of customer invoicing and accounts receivable, along with vendor payments and accounts payable.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring the team delivers accurate and timely financial records and reports.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring that all transactions are recorded in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Oversee the tracking and valuation of inventory, ensuring accurate records for financial reporting and control.
- Manage the financial aspects of our rebate products, ensuring correct pricing, discount structures, and accurate record-keeping for compliance and audit purposes.
- Oversee the preparation of the Business Activity Statements (BAS) and manage tax filings in collaboration with our external accounting firm.
- Supervise and ensure accurate payroll processing, ensuring employees are paid on time and that all relevant tax and compliance requirements are met.
- Manage and ensure the Xero accounting system is set up correctly, with the Chart of Accounts properly configured to reflect the business’s needs and ensure streamlined financial reporting.
- Prepare and present accurate Profit & Loss (P&L) statements for the Directors, including financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Lead initiatives to improve and streamline financial processes and systems. This includes connecting disparate systems, optimising workflow, and identifying gaps in the current structure.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and improve financial accuracy.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to monitor business performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Any other ad-hoc duties required to support the company's growth and business needs.

Skills Required
