An exciting opportunity exists for a self-motivated Finance Manager to join our growing Optiver Singapore office on an 8-month contract. Partnering with the wider Control teams, you will support the Financial Control agenda. This role reports to the Finance and Middle Office Team Lead based in Singapore and is a fixed-term engagement covering maternity leave within the Singapore Finance team.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Finance Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Owning the month-end close and all internal and external financial reporting and filings for Optiver’s legal entities, ensuring these are completed accurately and on time, and are fully understood in the context of the business’s operations.
  • Managing the tax accounting aspects of these entities in partnership with the Tax team (including income tax, GST, transfer pricing).
  • Designing management reports and working with the business to build valuable forecasts and budgets.
  • Managing treasury operations for the business, ensuring robust cash and capital forecasting, non-trading FX management, optimising cash return / liquidity while maintaining a high standard of control and accuracy.
  • Supporting the regulatory obligations of the Singapore entity, ensuring regulatory capital and financial reporting inputs are complete, accurate and delivered within required timeframes.
  • Operating within the prescribed Finance Control Framework, ensuring risks are identified, escalated, mitigated and controlled.
  • Contributing to automation initiatives via AI, from larger transformations through to smaller process efficiencies, working collaboratively with other Control teams and global offices to ensure initiatives are best practice and fit for purpose.
  • Supporting the existing Finance team, focused on delivering results against ambitious and value-driven goals.
  • Documenting processes and controls throughout the engagement and delivering a clear, complete handover at the end of the contract term.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Optiver needs our next Finance Manager to be someone with:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce or Business.
  • Singapore Chartered Accountant or international equivalent.
  • Supplementary qualifications in Financial Instruments, Risk Management, CFA or similar.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a finance and accounting role, with background in financial institution (banks, hedge funds, trading firms, etc)
  • Detailed technical accounting, statutory reporting, regulatory capital and taxation rule comprehension with experience in advisory and implementation.
  • A working knowledge of the financial products Optiver trades and how these are valued and accounted for, particularly listed derivatives.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving capabilities (via AI).
  • Proven experience in automation tooling, keeping abreast of the latest technological innovations in their field.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a lean team, taking a process from problem identification through to implemented solution.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deliverables in a high-performing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with experience in operational activities
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to package information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proven ability to influence a diverse set of stakeholders.
