Job Description:
Azuria is seeking a motivated college student with a strong work ethic to join our summer internship program as a Financial Operations intern with our Finance and Operations teams, reporting directly to the Vice President, Group CFO. Throughout the program, interns will benefit from close mentorship and engaging hands-on activities, enabling them to obtain real-world experience and develop a solid foundation of the controller function
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis: Analyze the company’s financial performance through preparation and review of income statement, balance sheet and cash flow.
- Communicate financial results to key stakeholders
- Understand main drivers of performance
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Supports the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts by working with stakeholders within the business and understanding project flows and timelines.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special finance projects and initiatives as needed, providing valuable contributions to the team.
- Attend and participate in branch meetings including staff meetings, MOR’s, forecasts and other meetings as deemed necessary.
- Work with Ops, Finance and Sales to understand and analyze backlog, revenues and market trends.
Requirements:
Basic Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Completed basic/entry level Business Management and Financial Accounting courses
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Ability to work in team environment
- Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught
- Ability to work with cross-functional business partners
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask
Preferred Requirements:
- Preferred Junior or Senior level completion of program
- Currently pursuing a concentration in construction or related field
- Located near an Azuria operating location
