As a Finance Director - TEBG Commercial, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world.

This role is a business finance leader position within Transportation and Electronics Business Group Finance. The individual will partner with TEBG Global Commercial leader and Strategy to play a key role in achieving profitable growth, improve DSO, drive pricing strategy, own the development and deployment of the three-year strategic financial plan.

TEBG Finance is in the phase of transforming our organizations and resource allocation to deliver top-tier business finance support to our TEBG Business Partners. Our goal is to drive sustainable, profitable growth through customer-centric innovation, effective portfolio management, and commercial excellence. 

Here you will make an impact by:

• Serve as the strategic business partner/CFO to Global Commercial business leader and key members of the global leadership team in planning and executing Global Commercial strategies, manage the three-year strategic financial plan from a business, function, and resource prioritization viewpoints. 

• Drive execution of the Global Commercial business model, commercial success, and shareholder returns. 

• Deliver value and growth with a focus on improving profitability and cash, managing costs, creating efficiencies, and mitigating risk. 

• Exhibit superior technical financial skills, influencing skills, and engagement with operating businesses, team leadership, and a strong change orientation with an international perspective. 

• Focus on marquee and key accounts for the four verticals and global/area commercial to leverage the full 3M portfolio. 

• Gather and analyze commercial excellence execution and progress 

• Track and report on the return on investment (ROI) of global commercial marketing activities. 

• Be an active member of the global commercial operating committee, recommending topics and actions to drive business success. 

• Instill financial rigor and reality into strategic planning and translate into operational plans that move at market speed. 

• Focus on sustainable business process improvements while connecting value chain components to capitalize on business potential and operational effectiveness. 

• Ensure a culture of compliance within the organization. 

• Support organic growth through understanding of vertical markets, customers, and competitors. 

• Enable best practice sharing and use of common tools across all geographies. 

• Implement common standard work and processes across the business group around commercial excellence, pricing, and standard margins.

• Leverage AI tools to optimize the standard work and data analytics.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or Accounting (completed and verified prior to start)

• Fifteen (15) years of finance experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Master's degree in Data Science or Statistics from an accredited institution

• Three (3) years of leadership experience, with Division, Area, or sizable country leadership experience

• Business acumen to connect theory and practice. 

• Significant experience in analytics projects/reports. 

• Ability to lead in a technical field with incomplete data. 

• Ability to teach and develop capabilities globally. 

• Strong financial acumen and ability to translate complex business problems into financial terms. 

• Experience influencing across the organization. 

• Understanding of multiple workstreams and their integration. 

• Strategic thinking and solid business knowledge. 

• Creative problem-solving skills inclusive of the use of AI tools

• Risk management analysis skills. 

• Self-starter with change-driving ability. 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

• Strong organizational and prioritization skills. 

• Demonstrated talent development ability. 

• International experience. 

Work location: This position has the possibility for remote work for candidates located more than 50-miles from 3M Global Headquarters in St. Paul, MN. Remote employees should expect to travel to 3M Global Headquarters at least once per month for one week. Employees located within a commutable distance to 3M Global Headquarters must work on-site at least 4 days per week.

Travel: May include up to 40% domestic/international

Relocation: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $287,281 - $351,122, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
