The Role

We are looking for a Finance Director to lead the financial operations of Devsu, while acting as a strategic partner to leadership.

This is not a traditional accounting role. You will act as a senior financial leader, owning financial visibility, planning, and decision support across the company, and serving as a key partner to leadership in shaping the business.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy and helping shape the financial direction of the business, balancing execution with strategy.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Compliance

  • Own the monthly close process across entities.
  • Oversee preparation of:
    • Balance Sheet
    • Profit & Loss (P&L)
    • Cash flow statements
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Ecuadorian accounting, tax, and labor regulations (primary)
    • U.S. GAAP
  • Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors in both, US and Ecuador jurisdictions.

Strategic Finance & Decision Support

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support growth decisions.
  • Provide insights on:
    • Profitability by client / service line.
    • Cost structure and margin optimization.
    • Cash flow and capital allocation.
  • Support leadership in strategic initiatives (pricing, expansion, efficiency).
  • Identify risks and opportunities proactively.

Business Optimization

  • Design and implement cost control and financial discipline frameworks.
  • Improve financial processes, reporting clarity, and internal controls through automation and AI.
  • Support cross-border structure optimization and tax efficiency (in coordination with advisors).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in finance/accounting roles, with increasing responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Ecuadorian accounting and tax regulations (required).
    • U.S. GAAP (working knowledge required).
  • Experience managing multi-entity or international financial operations.
  • Proven experience in financial planning, modeling, and analysis (FP&A).
  • Strong business acumen—ability to connect numbers to decisions.
  • Advanced Excel / financial modeling skills.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.

Nice to Have (Bonus Points)

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance, or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Experience in company valuations (DCF, comparables, transaction support).
  • Background in software / tech services companies.
  • Experience supporting executive teams or founders directly.
  • Exposure to M&A, fundraising, or financial structuring.

What We’re Looking For

Someone who:

  • Thinks like an owner, not just an accountant.
  • Is comfortable operating with ambiguity and autonomy.
  • Can challenge assumptions with data and logic.
  • Balances attention to detail with big-picture thinking.
  • Wants to grow into a future CFO role.

Benefits

Why This Role

This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact finance leadership role within a growing, international company without the bureaucracy of a traditional corporate environment.

You’ll work directly with leadership, influence key decisions, and help build the financial foundation for the next stage of growth.
