Job Summary:
The Finance Controller will oversee the company’s accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and internal control activities. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, effective financial controls, and compliance with applicable regulatory and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and inventory accounting, including timely reconciliation of supporting schedules.
- Supervise the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and management reports, ensuring timely submission to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor the company’s financial performance, cash flow, working capital, and key financial indicators.
- Ensure compliance with applicable IFRS, tax, statutory, and internal control requirements.
- Identify financial risks, control gaps, and discrepancies, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Coordinate monthly inventory counts and ensure proper reconciliation of physical and accounting records.
- Review and approve payment vouchers, sales invoices, journals, and other financial documents in line with approved policies.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including preparation of required schedules and documentation.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and variance reporting.
- Supervise and provide guidance to the finance and accounting team, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of deliverables.
- Liaise with auditors, banks, tax authorities, suppliers, and other relevant stakeholders on finance-related matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree/MBA is an advantage.
- ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting certification is an advantage.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing, or finance, with experience in a managerial or supervisory role. Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, automotive, retail, or other inventory-driven industries is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP & IFRS, financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, financial analysis, internal controls, and accounting/ERP systems.
