About the Role
The Associate Development Program is a paid 12-month full-time (temporary) experience designed for early-career individuals or those beginning their professional careers. A bachelor’s degree, relevant certification, or a combination of related education and experience aligned with the responsibilities of the role is required. Relevant coursework, training, or equivalent experience is valued. The format allows for structured professional development and hands-on learning.
In this Finance role, you will gain hands-on experience across various areas of finance, including accounts payable, accounting, and vendor management. Your contributions will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and efficiency within our department. This role works out of our headquarters, Halas Hall, in Lake Forest, IL, with the ability for some remote work.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and processing of invoices and expenses.
- Help reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank statements.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing process.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and statements.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation.
- Prepare journal entries and assist in maintaining the general ledger.
- Perform data entry and assist with audits as required.
- Assist with various administrative tasks in the accounting department.
- Provide general support to senior accounting staff on various projects.
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or relative experience
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.
- Reliable transportation is required for this role.

COMPETITIVE INDUSTRY PAY
The Finance Associate is a full-time temporary position. This position is an HOURLY role. The expected hourly rate for this role is $21 per hour. Please note that due to job function, regular overtime (paid as time-and-a-half) is not expected.
