This role will be part of the Business Intelligence COE based out of LCCI, which supports globally Planning, Forecasting and Reporting (PFR) team which consists of affiliates, hubs, regions, and corporate consolidations. Lilly has migrated to S4/HANA and implemented SAP Analytics on Cloud (SAC) for financial planning transforming our current planning, forecasting, and reporting tools and technology to new cloud-based solutions.
This role requires a skilled SAP SAC (SAP Analytics Cloud) Planning Developer and User Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SAP SAC planning functionalities, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of financial planning and analysis processes. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining planning models, reports, and dashboards within SAP Analytics Cloud to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
Key Objectives
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with business users to understand their planning and reporting needs, translating these requirements into technical specifications
- Model Development: Design and implement planning models in SAP SAC, including creating input forms, calculations, and integrations with other data sources.
- Data Integration: Configure and maintain data connections between SAP SAC and various data sources such as SAP ERP, SAP BW, and other external systems.
- Report and Dashboard Creation: Develop interactive reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights and facilitate data-driven decision-making for various stakeholders.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of planning models and reports to ensure timely and accurate data processing.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve technical issues related to SAP SAC planning models and integrations.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for planning models, processes, and system configurations.
- User Training and Support: Provide training and effective support to SAC Planning users,
- Collaboration: Work closely with Business Stakeholder’s and Business Intelligence teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of SAC Planning solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in SAC Planning processes and provide recommendations for enhancements.
Other Requirements
- Good Understanding of Financial Planning, Forecasting and Reporting
- Expertise in all SAC objects such as Dimensions, Data Actions, Multi Actions, Stories.
- Expertise in modelling according to business requirements
- Data debugging and error resolutions for existing developed objects
- Knowledgeable in aspects such as Objects transports, Data management, Security management etc.
- Should be able to communicate with the business user independently and convert a requirement into a potential working solution.
- Good knowledge and Experience on Analytical Application creation and scripting
- Experience in advanced story designing blending data, formulas, cross calculations, input controls, linked analysis.
- Understanding on Predictive analysis and smart insights.
- Expertise in configuring delta loads using import connection.
- Set up of Validation rules and methods.
- Strong hands in building connections with sources to SAC and data imports
- Self-driven and exploration and awareness about new functionalities and upcoming releases / patches.
- Ability to assess the current processes, identify improvement areas and suggest the technology solutions with POCs.
- Good understanding of Financial Data (transaction data, master data, etc.)
- Hands-on experience using BOBJ Analysis for Office and SAC-Excel add-in
- Hands-on experience of using various BI tools – SAP BO/ Power BI/Tableau etc.
- Hands-on experience of using S/4 Hana Finance
Basic Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, MBA Finance, or a related field.
Relevant certifications in SAP SAC or SAP BI are a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in SAP SAC, with a focus on planning and analytics. Prior experience with SAP BW, SAP ERP, or other SAP modules is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) planning functionalities.
- Strong knowledge of data integration techniques and ETL processes.
- Experience with scripting languages such as SAC’s scripting language, JavaScript, or SQL.
- Familiarity with financial planning processes and concepts.
Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into effective planning solutions.
Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality solutions.
Additional Skills Preferences
- Experience with other SAP Analytics or BI tools (e.g., SAP BusinessObjects, SAP BW/4HANA).
- Knowledge of best practices in financial planning, forecasting and reporting.
- Understanding of data security and governance principles within SAP environments.
- Previous experience in a development role within a corporate environment, preferably with a focus on SAP solutions
- Demonstrated ability to influence both internal and external business partners and develop strong relationships
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively cross-culturally and in a global team
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to be flexible in varying environments and with multiple customer groups
