Purpose of the role:
As a Finance Accountant - External Reporting, you will play a key role in supporting the Finance External Reporting function, ensuring all tax, regulatory, and statutory reporting obligations are delivered accurately and on time. You will be responsible for maintaining compliance across multiple jurisdictions while supporting the financial reporting requirements of our growing SaaS business.
Working closely with the Financial Manager - External Reporting and wider Finance team, you will contribute to the integrity of financial reporting processes, support audit activities, and provide accurate reporting and reconciliation services for both internal and external stakeholders.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing and submitting quarterly gaming regulator returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Managing all direct and indirect tax obligations, including calculations, accruals, payments, reconciliations, and statutory filings.
• Preparing and posting Transfer Pricing journals in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Supporting the preparation of year-end financial statements and audit files, ensuring all statutory and regulator audits are completed within required deadlines.
• Reconciling and posting payroll transactions, clearing payroll-related control accounts, and supporting annual employee tax reconciliations and submissions.
• Supporting Finance initiatives relating to the BVGroup SaaS platform, including onboarding activities and ongoing financial support.
• Assisting with SaaS platform fee calculations, including direct cost allocations and operational expenditure recoveries.
• Preparing player balance reconciliations, revenue reporting, and financial analysis for both internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Validating financial and operational data received from Business Intelligence teams to ensure reporting accuracy and completeness.
• Partnering closely with the Financial Manager - External Reporting to improve processes, maintain compliance, and support strategic finance initiatives.
• Providing support across the Finance function through ad hoc reporting, analysis, and project work as required.

 
Skills & Experience:

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent) or qualified by relevant professional experience.
• Previous experience in financial accounting, external reporting, audit, or a related finance role within the online gaming industry or accounting firm.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting requirements, including the preparation and submission of tax and regulatory returns.
• Sound technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Experience preparing annual statutory financial statements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
