Position Description

The Field Implementation Lead will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and partners to build and deliver innovative solutions for customers. This role focuses on the manufacture, deployment, and operation of VIA pilot-scale systems. You will work closely with engineering, R&D teams, vendors, fabricators, and customers to ensure the on-time and on-budget development and installation of VIA’s pilot systems. This position offers significant growth potential as VIA continues to expand, scale systems, and broaden its impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to manufacture in-house designed pilot systems.
  • Ensure the timely completion of pilot systems.
  • Lead the installation of systems at customer sites, including managing logistics, deployment, and the operation of pilot systems at customer locations.
  • Operate, monitor, and optimize pilot systems at customer locations and at Via locations. Ensure systems meet performance specifications and achieve KPIs.
  • Apply hands-on skills to manufacture systems within the prototype assembly space.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve fabrication and construction issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide training and support to customers and internal teams on system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures

The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of the following:

  • 5–10 years of experience in assembling and deploying complex pilot or larger systems, ideally in industrial manufacturing environments.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in the manufacture and assembly of equipment skids, including piping and pumping systems, using standard manufacturing techniques.
  • Basic electrical wiring skills (preferred).
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and detailed work instructions
  • Ability to use fork trucks while also understanding rigging of components for assembly/disassembly of process equipment (preferred).
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative yet informally structured environment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform activities such as stooping, typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% for this role with occasional work required nights/weekends
  • U.S. work authorization is required for this role.

We Offer:

  • Competitive compensation package, including equity options
  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • Disability & Life Insurance
  • 401(k)
  • 12+ weeks of paid Family Leave
  • Paid Flex time off
  • Paid time off for Company holidays

Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they can perform every job description task. We are most interested in finding the best candidate for the job, and that candidate may come from a less traditional background. Via may consider an equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, and experience to meet minimum qualifications. If you are interested in applying, we encourage you to think broadly about your background and skill set for the role!
