The Feedstocks Commercial Representative will negotiate near term Ethylene and Natural Gas requirements for the Saint James Styrene Monomer manufacturing facility and assist the Feedstocks Manager in negotiating long-term commitments. This position will also commercially manage Toluene, Diethylbenzene, and Ethylbenzene truck shipments. Responsibilities include meeting service level targets, optimizing logistics costs, inventory management, identifying and evaluating near term business opportunities, building supplier relationships and leading feedstocks supply improvement efforts.  These duties require close communication and interaction with the Feedstocks and Styrene Team, Supply Chain, Saint James plant personnel, logistics coordinators, product suppliers, storage and exchange partners.  Strong commercial aptitude and understanding of the ethylene and natural gas pipeline networks are helpful for job success.

Primary Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with Feedstocks and Styrene Team, Supply Chain, Saint James and Suppliers to optimize near term Ethylene and Natural Gas requirements
    • Ethylene: Coordinate with Feedstocks Specialists and Feedstocks Manager to purchase or sell Ethylene to meet near term requirements
      • Input commercial deals in a timely manner and work with Feedstocks Specialist on a monthly basis to ensure proper accounting of spot purchases for Feedstocks and Styrene customers.
      • Inventory Management to optimize cashflow
      • Gain a deep understanding of regional Ethylene balances on the Gulf Coast
      • Working with Feedstocks Specialists to track storage hub price differentials to identify opportunities to capture opportunities to drive value for our customers and shareholders
      • Develop monthly nomination strategy with Feedstock Manager and manage the monthly nomination process
      • Natural Gas: Coordinate with Analysts on near term natural gas requirements and assist in developing long term Natural Gas supply strategy for Saint James
        • Input commercial deals in a timely manner and work with Finance on a monthly basis to ensure proper accounting of spot purchases.
        • Develop monthly nomination strategy with Feedstock Manager and manage the monthly nomination process
        • Commercially manage daily imbalances on Natural Gas (buying and selling as required)
        • Gaining a better understanding of Gulf Coast Natural Gas pipeline network system to logistical optimization
        • Commercially manage other Feedstocks in coordination with Feedstocks Manager: Diethylbenzene rail, Ethylbenzene Trucks, Toluene shipments
          • Work closely with Feedstocks Specialists and Benzene Planner to coordinate shipments
          • Communicate pricing at month end to Accounts Receivable and Customers
          •  Structural and spot portfolio analysis

Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Demonstrating computational skills, logical thinking, a positive attitude, level demeanor, common sense and a strong work ethic are keys to job success
    • Proven record of success working in cross-functional teams is required
    • Feedstock activities associated with Saint James is a 24 hour/day activity and always ongoing; the ability to adapt to changes in the market supply environment and personal availability is critical to job success
    • Must have the ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks with frequent interruptions in a team environment
    • Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain and foster positive industry relationships with suppliers and customers
    • Understanding of Pipeline specification

Preferences:

    • Preference of two years of experience with exposure to manufacturing, commercial or supply chain in the chemical industry; chemical industry logistics experience is desired
    • Working knowledge of ethylene and natural gas pipeline network desired
    • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office suite of products is desired

Relocation is not available with this position.
