What the job is:
CPI is looking for someone who has a positive and outgoing attitude, image and a commitment to a safety-minded culture.  This person will prepare the Feed Division business plan, develop and implement the strategic plan for the division, communicate feed division policies and ultimately be responsible for the procurement and pricing of feed products and services while developing new markets, increasing market share and maintaining a competitive position in the industry.  CPI is a safety minded company thus such policies must be followed.  The Feed Operations Manager will be responsible for risk management of the feed division adhering to CPI’s Feed Risk Management policy and provide a detailed DPR to the VP of Energy and the board.  In addition this person will be responsible for the feed division inventory, provide leadership and mentoring to managers of all functions within the division, build consensus with functional and cross-functional team members on company objectives to align resources for maximum efficiency and drive a culture of respect, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement while understanding and following the reporting structure for all of CPI’s divisions. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or agricultural related field and seven or more years of progressively responsible leadership roles. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Time management, planning, organization and decision-making skills are a must.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking abilities along with sound judgement and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis is essential. 
  • Proficient knowledge of business computer skills (Microsoft Office, accounting and feed software).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations is essential. 
  • Excellent business acumen abilities; time management, planning, organization and decision-making skills. 
  • Valid Driver's License and Class A CDL with required endorsements is preferred.  
  • Supervisory experience of teams is required. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
