What the job is:
CPI is looking for someone who likes to work outside and enjoys working independently or on a team to accomplish day-to-day feed mill operations.  This person will assist with the manufacturing, production and processing of customer feed orders and inventories.  In addition, this person will follow ration sheets and calculate percentages in feed mixtures and animal health products, prepare ingredients for mixing within animal feed and complete daily feed run sheets and batch mix sheets for all fee manufactured.  CPI is a safety minded company thus such policies must be followed.   Feed Mill Operators will assist in monthly and annual inventory records, aid in mill maintenance, load out customers from the dock and work with the feed delivery drivers on mill operations including housekeeping and maintenance.  As needed the candidate could operate heavy equipment if certified.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Time management, planning, organization and decision-making skills are a must.
  • Working knowledge of computers.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English. 
  • High School Diploma or GED or related experience and/or training. 
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must have physical strength, balance and stamina necessary to complete various tasks.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Lift and push/pull up to 100 pounds at a time.
  • Adapt to frequent exposure of moving parts, fumes, airborne particles and chemicals.
  • Work in high precarious places. 
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
