The Role

About Commonwealth Fusion Systems:

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is on a mission to deliver the urgent transition to fusion energy.

Combining decades of research, top talent and new technologies, we’re designing and building commercially viable fusion power plants. And working with policymakers and suppliers to build the energy industry of the future.

We’re in the best position to make it happen. Since 2018, we’ve raised over $2 billion in capital – more than any other fusion energy company in the U.S.

Now we’re looking for more thinkers, doers, builders, and makers to join us. People who’ll bring new perspectives, solve tough problems, and thrive as part of a team.

If that’s you and this role fits, we want to hear from you.

Join the power movement as a Maintenance Electrician

  • Assist in the development of maintenance procedures and schedules

What we're looking for:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate or higher
  • Massachusetts Journeyman or Master Electricians license
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and complex manufacturing equipment including but not limited to CNC machining centers, process ovens, various electro-mechanical equipment and the plant systems required to support them

  • Proficiency with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Commitment to safety and quality
  • Ability to take directions from supervisors and work independently
  • Desire to work and contribute in a fast-paced, startup R&D environment with daily changes
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and cleanliness with hands-on work
  • Ability and patience to work through projects from start to finish, including assembly and testing

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

Must-have Requirements:

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Perform activities such as stooping, climbing, typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dedication to safety to mitigate industrial hazards that may include heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, and cryogenics
