Position Summary
Beasley Forest Products is seeking a dependable and skilled Fabrication team member to support our manufacturing and maintenance operations. This position is responsible for performing fabrication, welding, cutting, fitting, and repair work on equipment, machinery, structures, and other components used throughout our lumber manufacturing facility.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on welding and fabrication experience, including experience with MIG welding, welding rods/electrodes, and cutting torches, along with a strong commitment to safety and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform welding, cutting, fitting, grinding, and fabrication of metal components and structures.

Perform MIG welding and welding using rods/electrodes as required for assigned projects and repairs.

Safely operate and use cutting torches for cutting, heating, and fabrication work.

Read and interpret measurements, drawings, layouts, and basic fabrication plans.

Fabricate, repair, modify, and install equipment components as needed.

Safely operate welding machines, cutting torches, grinders, saws, drills, and other fabrication tools and equipment.

Select and properly use appropriate welding rods, electrodes, and welding materials for assigned work.

Measure, cut, shape, fit, and assemble materials according to specifications.

Inspect completed welds and fabricated components to ensure proper fit, quality, strength, and workmanship.

Assist with repairs and maintenance of production equipment and machinery when needed.

Identify damaged or worn components and communicate repair needs to supervision.

Maintain tools, welding equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.

Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and lockout/tagout requirements.

Properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Work closely with maintenance, production, and other departments to complete assigned projects.

Perform other duties as assigned based on operational and production needs.
Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of welding, fabrication, industrial maintenance, or related experience is required.

Three to five years of welding and fabrication experience is preferred.

Experience with MIG welding is required.

Experience using welding rods/electrodes is required.

Experience safely operating a cutting torch is required.

Must be able to successfully pass a welding test.

Must be able to safely operate welding and fabrication equipment.

Must possess basic measuring and mathematical skills.

Must be able to read a tape measure accurately.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Must be dependable and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Must follow all company safety rules and procedures.

Must be 18 years or older.

Must be able to pass a urine drug screen, prior to hiring.
Schedule and Availability Requirements

Must be available to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Must be flexible with work schedules based on production, maintenance, and operational requirements.

Additional hours may be required when equipment repairs, shutdowns, or production needs arise.
Work Environment
This position is performed in an industrial lumber-manufacturing environment.

Must be able to work in various climates and weather conditions, including hot, cold, humid, wet, and changing weather conditions.

May be exposed to dust, wood particles, noise, machinery, welding fumes, sparks, heat, and other conditions associated with an industrial manufacturing facility.

Must be comfortable working around heavy machinery and production equipment.

Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors as required.

Must be able to work safely in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, and pull as required.

Ability to lift and move materials, tools, and equipment as required by the position.

Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access equipment when necessary.

Must be physically capable of safely performing fabrication and welding duties throughout the scheduled shift.
