In your role as an External Supply Manager, you would ensure product availability, cost competitiveness and supply chain resilience within your assigned supplier portfolio. You would lead supplier relationship management in close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders and drive end-to-end supply chain efficiency, transparency and performance. Your contribution would support strong service level, cost competitiveness, inventory performance and successful launches. The role includes both operational and managerial responsibilities related to supplier relationships, supply chain development and product portfolio competitiveness.

You would report to the Head of External Supply Operations, Generics & Biosimilars.

The position is permanent and based in Espoo or Turku, Finland. The role also requires occasional international travel, but your work will mainly take place at the office or remotely, with a hybrid work possibility.


Responsibilities

  • You build and manage relationships with assigned suppliers in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • You ensure product availability, cost competitiveness and profitability of your product and supplier portfolio.
  • You monitor supplier performance, follow up agreed actions, and manage supplier- and supply chain-related risks.
  • You support new business opportunities, tenders and on-time launches by providing supply chain input on feasibility, cost impact and timelines.
  • You manage contract lifecycles and support contract compliance within the assigned supplier portfolio.
  • You drive supply chain development, continuous improvement and sustainability-related supplier actions.
  • You collaborate with internal stakeholders such as business, sales, quality, product lifecycle management, regulatory affairs and packaging technology.

Orion's Global Operations covers the entire pharmaceutical manufacturing process, from sourcing of raw materials to the manufacture of products, packaging and delivery to customers. We are also responsible for the industrialization of new products and product life cycle management.

In Global Operations we have approximately 1,600 professionals working in Production, our external supplier network (External Supply Operations) and Fermion Oy (API manufacturing and marketing). In addition, the organization includes Supply Chain & Procurement, Technical Operations, Facility Management, EHS (Environment, Health and Safety), CPD&LCM (Commercial Product Development & Product lifecycle management) and Operations Development.

External Supply Operations (ESO) is responsible for supplier management across a global supplier portfolio of more than 150 suppliers. Our key targets are product availability, service level, total cost competitiveness, compliance and supply chain resilience. Our work has a direct impact on the success of Orion’s key business areas, and we work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to align supply chain performance with business-specific targets.
