Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier 2 support for ViewPoint, resolving complex incidents and service requests escalated from Tier 1
- Diagnose issues across application configuration, data, reporting, and security layers
- Manage incidents through to resolution, ensuring clear documentation and stakeholder communication
- Own and administer the ViewPoint security model, including: Role-based access control, Segregation of duties, and data ringfencing
- Enhance and maintain ViewPoint configuration to support evolving business requirements
- Assess the impact of configuration changes and ensure operational readiness
- Support testing and validation of configuration changes prior to production deployment
- Provide advanced SQL support for ViewPoint, including:
- Writing and analysing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views etc.
- Investigating data integrity, reconciliation, and reporting issues
- Supporting extracts and operational reporting
- Perform controlled data fixes and updates in line with change management and audit requirements
- Perform bulk data updates, uploads, and corrections using approved tools and processes
- Validate data accuracy and completeness following updates
- Investigate data issues, reconciliations, and discrepancies raised by the business
- Ensure data changes comply with governance, audit, and change management standards
- Support and maintain ViewPoint reporting, including standard and ad-hoc reports
- Troubleshoot reporting issues related to data quality, permissions, or configuration
- Write and prepare reports and other materials for internal and external audiences.
- Work with business users to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective solutions
- Integrate data from multiple data sets via APIs and/or data layer integrations, analyse and interpret complex data sets and make findings relevant and actionable for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in major incidents involving ViewPoint, providing application-level expertise
- Lead or contribute to root cause analysis for recurring or high-impact issues
- Support application releases, vendor patches, and upgrades, including pre- and post-deployment validation
- Liaise with Quantios support to escalate defects, track resolutions, and apply fixes
- Create and maintain ViewPoint-specific runbooks, configuration guides, and support documentation
- Document security models, data processes, and reporting logic
- Contribute to knowledge transfer and support readiness across the wider team
- Identify opportunities to improve ViewPoint stability, usability, and support efficiency
- Recommend enhancements to processes, controls, and automation where appropriate
- Stay current with ViewPoint functionality, vendor updates, and best practices
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience supporting ViewPoint (Quantios) in a production environment
- Deep understanding of:
- ViewPoint security and access control model
- Application configuration and administration
- Underlying data structures and reporting
- Bulk data update processes and controls
- Advanced Microsoft SQL Server skills, including:
- Complex querying and data analysis
- Performance troubleshooting and optimization
- Reporting and data extract support
- Experience using SSIS or other integration/ETL tools
- Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting data and reporting issues
- Typically 5+ years of experience in application support
- Demonstrated experience operating in a Tier 2 application support role
- Experience supporting applications in a financial services or regulated environment is strongly preferred
- Recognized subject-matter expert with a high level of ownership and accountability
- Strong communication skills, able to engage confidently with business users and auditors
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy, controls, and risk management
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining service quality
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- ITIL Foundation or higher
