The Role

Who You’ll Work With 

You will join the Jordan 3D Design Studio, reporting to the Sr. Director of 3D Excellence and working in close partnership with footwear design, product creation, engineering, and development teams. You will serve as the dedicated 3D expert for Sport footwear, collaborating with cross-category 3D peers and contributing to shared digital assets, workflows, and standards across Jordan Brand. 

Who We Are Looking For 

We are seeking an experienced and highly specialized Expert 3D Designer to drive digital creation within the Sport Team (Basketball, FBAT, Golf) Jordan’s performance product category. This role demands advanced modeling capability, a performance-driven design mindset, and the ability to turn athlete insight and creative intent into expressive digital form with speed and rigor. 

You bring strong sculptural instincts, fluency across modern 3D workflows, and the ability to move confidently between rapid exploratory modeling and refined digital prototypes. You thrive in early-stage creation, navigate through ambiguity, build clarity through iteration, and produce compelling renderings and animations that help teams see direction and make decisions faster. 

You elevate digital craft by developing reusable assets, documented workflows, and high-bar examples that future teams inherit as Jordan continues scaling its digital creation muscle. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in in Industrial Design, Product Design, Footwear Design or relevant design degree or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training 

  • 7+ years in performance footwear or hard-surface 3D design 

  • Mastery in 3D tools (e.g., Rhino, Grasshopper, Alias, Blender, Maya, ZBrush, Modo) 

  • Strong rendering and animation skills for communicating form, material, and performance narrative 

  • Experience with digital-to-physical workflows, including 3D printing and functional prototyping 

  • Familiarity with USD or scene-graph workflows and interest in building scalable libraries 

  • Portfolio demonstrating precision, form literacy, iterative thinking, and modern digital craft 

  • Curiosity about emerging tools such as procedural workflows and responsible AI-assisted creation 

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work fluidly alongside design, engineering, and development partners 

What You’ll Work On 

You will translate athlete informed concepts into high quality 3D assets that accelerate design clarity and decision making while contributing to repeatable digital systems that scale with the team. 

  • Lead 3D creation for performance footwear from early sculpting to refined digital prototypes 

  • Develop digital assets that balance ergonomic performance with Jordan’s identity and narrative 

  • Produce renders and lightweight animations to communicate design intent and functional story 

  • Build and maintain reusable digital bucks/lasts, underlays, and modeling templates 

  • Create and document rapid concept-to-print workflows for prototyping and testing 

  • Deliver USD-ready assets and support growth of Jordan’s digital asset library 

  • Explore procedural, simulation, and AI-enhanced workflows where they provide meaningful creation value 

  • Partner with footwear design, engineering, and development to solve complex form and manufacturing challenges 

  • Share methods, resources, and workflows that elevate digital craft across the studio
