Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for an Experienced Methods Process Analyst (Level 3) to join our Space Launch Systems, Exploration Upper Stage team in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Imagine your work directly enabling humanity's return to the Moon and paving the way for deep space exploration. As a Manufacturing Engineer on Boeing's Artemis program, lead in the development of the production systems and processes for the newest product to be added to the Michoud heritage, the Exploration Upper Stage. You will turn the design of the spacecraft into the hardware allowing for humans to land on the moon and beyond once again.
A proud heritage - Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) is located in New Orleans East and operated in partnership with NASA, Michoud is often called "America's Rocket Factory." It combines one of the world's largest industrial manufacturing buildings with heavy lift tooling, large format fabrication capability, and a decades long heritage of producing the large structures that enable human exploration.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Analyze current and projected business environments to develop forecasts, acquisition strategies, and utilization plans that optimally support program and corporate initiatives.
  • Create and maintain complex Business System factory definitions to enable precise manufacturing planning and capacity alignment.
  • Develop labor hour estimates for new or revised production and tooling work packages using labor standards, design reviews, and Tool & Production Operations concurrence; monitor performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Contribute to integrated master schedules (crew cycling, learning curves, shift analysis, crew sizing, tooling capacity) by producing tool and position plans, downtime schedules, rate flows, and sequencing documentation.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements using proven continuous improvement methodologies to maximize equipment utilization, reduce waste, and boost workforce productivity.
  • Rapidly assess impacts of unplanned events on approved plans-quantifying cost, schedule, resource, and delivery implications-and develop approved mitigation plans.
  • Represent Production and Tooling Operations in negotiations to safeguard schedule commitments and manage statement of work impacts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain integrated shop operating plans to minimize inventory, control costs, and meet schedule and delivery commitments.
  • Define and track shop performance metrics, analyze operational data, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for Production and Tooling leadership.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in process engineering, methods, or continuous improvement in complex manufacturing or aerospace environments
  • 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Project and related scheduling software for complex schedule planning and communication
  • 3+ years of experience providing briefings to senior and/or executive level management
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting interfacing with quality and safety requirements
  • Experience leading cross-functional process improvements, root cause analysis, and milestone tracking
  • Proven ability to work independently on high-visibility tasks and to operate effectively in production settings with substantial walking and stakeholder interaction

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or related technical discipline
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher; Lean Leader or equivalent training
  • Experience with PFMEA, process risk assessments, and verification/validation planning
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards (AS9100) and supporting readiness reviews or certification
  • Proficiency with model-based engineering tools and advanced analytics (statistical process control, Minitab)

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $89,250 - $120,750
