The demand for fresh food is increasing the need for better shipping and storing capabilities across the entire cold supply chain. Food spoilage is a major problem with ~1/3 of it being thrown away. Food safety is a problem as well with 1 in 6 Americans contracting foodborne illness each year. We do see a future where all food shipped from farm to fork arrives safely and sustainably. Now we do not produce, move, store, or sell food directly. We serve the businesses that do all those things. Serving businesses and optimizing our customers’ performance across their Cold Chain is the role we play. Our team’s mission each day is to 1) efficiently keep food fresh and safe, 2) track each step and 3) make it easy for our customers. The Engineer Hardware is performed under supervision of the Engineering Lead using established procedures where individual performs routine duties involving calculations and simple tests.  The Engineer Hardware may design parts of minor phases of a project; translate technical guidance received from supervisor into usable data application to the engineering assignments; and check drawings for technical accuracy.  


Engineer Hardware will have the responsibility of working as part of a team to ensure a high-quality product is produced. 



As an Engineer Hardware, you will:


  • Design embedded hardware and work with software team to meet product specification requirements under supervision of experienced engineering personnel.
  • Ability to read and comprehend electronic component data sheets.
  • Ability to read and comprehend schematics for existing microcontroller-based designs.
  • Work with development team to provide continuing engineering support during all phases of a design through the life of the product.
  • Assist production with choosing alternate components for supply chain
  • Provide general support to contract board manufacturer, production, and product management
  • Work on engineering projects as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years of cadence systems experience.
  • 3+ years working knowledge of design concepts for RS485 networks, Ethernet, Microcontrollers, USB, and 24VAC power supplies
  • Experience with various processors and micros including IMX8, MSP430
  • Experience with Analog outputs: 0-10VDC and 4 to 20mA,
  • Experience with Digital outputs: Mechanical Relays and Solid State Relays
  • Experience with Analog inputs, transducers, resistive temperature sensors
  • Soldering skills for modifying prototypes – package size down to 0201
  • Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. Individuals on temporary visas such as H1, F1 (OPT & STEM), L, B, J, TN, or individuals who need sponsorship how or in the future will not be considered for this opportunity.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Linux, Windows experience
  • HVAC/R industry experience controlling compressors, fans, valves, etc.
