Description

Exhibit Concepts is looking for an Exhibit Preparation Specialist to help prepare tradeshow exhibit properties for successful client events. This is a hands-on production role for someone who enjoys working with tools, inspecting materials, solving practical problems, and making sure exhibit components are clean, repaired, organized, and ready to perform in the field.

In this role, you will support the preparation, inspection, repair, inventory, and staging of tradeshow exhibits before they ship out and after they return. You will work closely with the Exhibit Preparation Supervisor, Account Managers, and other production team members to help ensure exhibit properties are accurate, complete, safe, and show-ready.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in exhibit prep, warehouse operations, fabrication, carpentry, scenic/display work, construction, repair, facilities, shipping/receiving, or production support who wants to apply those skills in a creative, detail-driven environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Inspect tradeshow exhibit property before and after events to identify damage, missing parts, repair needs, cleanliness issues, or other concerns that could impact setup or presentation.
  • Prepare exhibit components for outbound shipment by cleaning, organizing, staging, and confirming property is ready for use.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, job information, and exhibit documentation for new and existing tradeshow properties.
  • Two or more years of related experience required, but we are open to candidates with transferable hands-on experience.
  • Related experience may include tradeshow or exhibit preparation, warehouse operations, fabrication, carpentry, scenic/display work, construction, repair, facilities maintenance, shipping/receiving, production support, or similar hands-on work.
  • Perform basic repairs and touch-ups using general repair techniques, laminating, Bondo, simple epoxies, paints, and hand tools.
  • Use basic hand tools safely and effectively to complete prep, repair, assembly, and maintenance tasks.
  • Support inventory accuracy by helping track exhibit components, parts, materials, and job-related property.
  • Maintain clear records related to current and past jobs, including exhibit condition, repair status, missing items, and completed work.
  • Communicate repair needs, property concerns, timing issues, and status updates to the Exhibit Preparation Supervisor and internal team members.
  • Operate forklifts and assist with movement of exhibit property and materials as needed, following all safety requirements and company procedures.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, organized, and efficient prep area.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, job details, work orders, blueprints, drawings, or other production-related documentation.
  • Comfortable working with hand tools and performing basic repair or prep work.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to notice damage, missing items, fit/finish issues, or quality concerns.
  • Ability to stay organized and maintain accurate job, inventory, or condition records.
  • Basic computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and learn internal inventory or job tracking systems.
  • Basic math skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and work with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Forklift experience preferred; company certification may be required.
  • Ability to work independently while also communicating effectively with supervisors, Account Managers, and team members.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand.
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • A forklift will be used to move anything over 75 lbs.
