Executive Manager, Tax Advising

Group Taxation is responsible for managing the taxation affairs of the Group ensuring that all tax obligations under the law are met in a timely manner. This role will report to the General Manager, Group Tax.
Do work that matters
- Tax advice, sign-off and decision making on the Group’s global operations, transactions and tax issues;
- Applying judgement to all tax issues in line with the Group’s risk appetite, including Group Tax policies and procedures;
- Proactively demonstrating leadership on all income tax issues, including identifying opportunities for improvement;
- Assisting in the preparation of the Group’s financial reporting and statutory tax obligations (including tax returns);
- Working closely and seamlessly with other Executive Managers in Group Tax, business owners and senior stakeholders;
- Managing external advisor engagements in Australia and overseas;
- Managing interactions with tax regulators, as requested by the General Manager, Group Tax;
- Providing leadership and mentoring of Senior Managers and all other staff in Group Tax; and
- Being ready and prepared to act in the capacity of Acting General Manager Group Tax, as needed from time to time.
We’re interested in hearing from people who have
- At least 12 years relevant tax experience, either in major consulting firms (Director/Partner level) and/or senior roles in commerce (comparable roles in multinational organisations), is highly regarded.
- Strong history of proven stakeholder engagement, with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to balance regulatory expectations with practical business outcomes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including confidence operating in senior forums
- A proactive risk mindset, with a focus on sustainable, well‑controlled outcomes
- Demonstrated experience prioritising deliverables and managing complex change in fast‑moving environments
- Must be able to work seamlessly across the tax law, commercial issues as well as accounting concepts
- Must own tax issues end to end (this is not a technical only role that involves writing tax opinions)

Skills Required
- At least 12 years relevant tax experience (major consulting firms Director/Partner level or senior multinational commerce roles).

- Leadership and mentoring experience for Senior Managers and other staff; readiness to act as Acting General Manager Group Tax.
