Why This Role Matters
The Executive Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a critical partner in ensuring the success of The Washington Post’s financial leadership. This role requires a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and strategic awareness, providing seamless administrative and operational support to the CFO while navigating a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with exceptional organizational skills, a service-minded attitude, and the ability to manage competing priorities with discretion, efficiency, and diplomacy. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the CFO’s calendar, coordinating cross-functional meetings and travel, managing communications, and supporting the broader Finance team through administrative coordination and internal event planning. How You'll Support The Mission
Provide high-level administrative support to the CFO, including calendar management, travel coordination, and preparation of meeting materials.
Act as a liaison between the CFO and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring timely communication and follow-ups.
Draft, proofread, and edit professional correspondence, and basic presentation materials.
Maintain confidential files and handle sensitive financial and HR-related matters with discretion.
Manage expense reports and support basic budgeting activities.
Coordinate department-wide meetings, team events, and special projects in collaboration with other administrative professionals.
Oversee supply ordering, support onboarding logistics, and help ensure smooth daily operations across the Finance team.
The Skills and Experience You Bring
5 or more years of experience supporting senior executives in a fast-paced environment (finance or corporate leadership support preferred).
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with proven ability to prioritize.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; confident editing and proofreading ability.
High level of discretion, judgment, and emotional intelligence
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Familiarity with expense reporting tools, budgeting workflows, or financial software a plus.
Proven ability to remain composed under pressure and adapt to shifting priorities.

Benefits may vary based on the job, full-time or part-time schedule, location, and collectively bargained status.
The salary range for this position is:
$74,000 - $111,000 AnnualThe actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
