About the Role

The Exams Operations Officer plays a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of final, supplementary and deferred examinations across the University. Working within the Student Services Division, this position provides operational, administrative and stakeholder support to deliver a positive student experience while maintaining the integrity and quality of examination processes. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and support the delivery of examinations, including timetabling, special arrangements, supervisor coordination, exam events and quality assurance activities. 
  • Build strong relationships with Faculties, Subject Coordinators and professional staff to collect, validate and manage examination requirements. 
  • Manage complex and escalated examination enquiries from students and staff, providing timely and effective resolutions. 
  • Contribute to stakeholder engagement, continuous improvement initiatives and support Educational Scheduling activities during peak periods.

About the Team

The Exams Operations team sits within the Student Services Division and is responsible for the delivery and administration of examinations across UOW. The team works closely with Faculties, academic staff, timetabling teams and students to ensure examination processes are delivered accurately, efficiently and in accordance with University requirements. 

What You’ll Bring

  • Relevant qualifications, training and/or equivalent professional experience. 
  • Experience in a higher education environment or a similarly complex operational setting. 
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and experience working with large volumes of data and competing deadlines.  
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and negotiate outcomes. 
  • Experience applying policies and procedures and using enterprise systems, including student management systems and Microsoft Excel. 

Role Details

  • Permanent/Continuing | Full-time
  • Level 5: $85,682 - $96,898 + 17% superannuation commensurate with experience and capability.
  • Wollongong Campus (with flexible working arrangement outside of peak examination periods
