Performs a wide range of housekeeping tasks and projects including the cleaning of restrooms, waiting areas, offices, and clinical areas. The areas that are to be cleaned also are not limited to medicine prep rooms that requires daily cleaning as well. Operation of equipment such as vacuum cleaners, upholstery shampooers, and others is required. Also, other housekeeping duties may be required. WORKING CONDITIONS, HAZARDS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Works in a typical Medical Center environment subject to the hazards associated with such a facility. A flexible working schedule is required including overtime and weekend assignments. Must be able to move or position 50 lbs. independently. Extensive and constant amounts of physical effort required and operation of heavy machinery associated with waste removal and compacting. Vision must be good or prescribed glasses worn. Preference for routine, organized activities performed according to predetermined Organization policies. High tolerance for pressure and stress due to task interruption as well as task overload. High tolerance for change. Duties require outside transferring trash to dumpster in inclement weather conditions.
CONTACTS WITH OTHERS:
Will contact and interact with nurses, doctors, visitors, patients and all other staff on a routine basis.
EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Must be knowledgeable in the use of all chemicals and all equipment. May need to carry beeper and answer pages.
