As an Environmental Services (EVS) Manager, you will play a critical role in continuing the healing mission of Deaconess.
Job Overview
The Environmental Services Department provides the sanitizing and cleaning as well as waste processing, furniture movement and floor care for the Deaconess Health System. The Environmental Services Manager will direct and control departmental operations and activities to assure an aseptic, orderly, and attractive environment is maintained. Communicates the organization's vision and values to be carried out in the day-to-day activities throughout Deaconess. Supervises area manager(s) and team leader(s) and have functional relationships with other staff members. Coordinates staff development including: recruiting, orienting, training, and evaluating departmental personnel. Participates in department/hospital committees and teams to develop and implement short and long term goals for the department individually and for the hospital as a whole. Directs the budget preparations - capital, personnel, operating. Continuously seeks ways to improve quality, enhance utilization, and decrease cost of services. Creates an environment for organizational performance that supports quality and safety improvements and adheres to applicable laws and compliance regulations. Engages, manages, and develops staff to utilize their full potential in alignment with mission, vision, and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
High school diploma is required. College or trade school education is preferred. Relevant equivalent management level experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
