Job Description

  • The Event Manager is responsible for driving revenue, client experience, and operational excellence for the Convergence Conference Center and associated coworking event spaces. 

  • This role serves as the primary point of contact for all event inquiries and leads the full event lifecycle—from prospecting and sales through execution and post-event follow-up. The Event Manager owns performance across sales, marketing, financial management, and on-site event operations to ensure strong booking volume, profitability, and a best-in-class hospitality experience. 

  • The ideal candidate is equal parts sales leader, hospitality professional, and operational manager who thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing environment. 

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities: 

Revenue Generation & Sales Strategy 

  • Drive event sales to achieve booking and profitability targets. 

  • Manage the full sales pipeline in HubSpot, from inquiry to signed agreement. 

  • Respond promptly to event inquiries and convert prospects into tours and confirmed bookings. 

  • Develop and execute strategies to fill need periods and optimize space utilization. 

  • Prepare proposals and negotiate service agreements (HubSpot/PandaDoc). 

  • Maintain accurate sales reporting, forecasting, and monthly performance tracking. 

  • Build and nurture relationships within the local corporate, university, nonprofit, and event planning communities. 

 

Client Experience & Community Engagement 

  • Own the client journey from first inquiry through post-event follow-up. 

  • Deliver a hospitality-driven experience that positions the event center as a premium amenity to tenants and guests. 

  • Remain visible and accessible within the center; operate with an open-door, service-first approach. 

  • Anticipate client needs and provide creative solutions to enhance event success. 

  • Resolve client concerns promptly and escalate when appropriate. 

  • Foster community engagement within the building through programming and relationship-building. 

 

Event Execution & Operations 

  • Oversee planning and execution of meetings, conferences, receptions, and special events. 

  • Coordinate food and beverage, A/V, vendors, housekeeping, room setup, and breakdown. 

  • Be present on-site for events as needed to supervise staff, vendors, and guest experience. 

  • Maintain event and conference areas to ensure a clean, safe, and professional environment. 

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service standards. 

  • Monitor and maintain operational systems; escalate outages or service issues as necessary. 

 

Financial & Administrative Oversight 

  • Ensure accurate invoicing and billing through Operate and related systems. 

  • Track outstanding payments and proactively manage collections to minimize bad debt. 

  • Approve vendor invoices and ensure proper coding and rebilling when applicable. 

  • Monitor profitability and provide reporting and recommendations to improve performance. 

  • Maintain working knowledge of company policies and implement new initiatives as rolled out. 

 

Core Competencies: 

  • Proven sales and revenue generation expertise 

  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills 

  • High standards of hospitality and customer service 

  • Financial acumen, including ability to review P&L performance 

  • Proficiency in HubSpot or similar CRM platforms 

  • Strong organizational and project management skills 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends based on event schedule 

  • Leadership, coaching, and team collaboration skills 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) preferred 

  • 3–5+ years of experience in event management, hospitality, coworking, hotel, or property management 

  • Experience managing a profit center or revenue-generating business line preferred 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, billing platforms, and financial reporting tools 

 

Working Conditions: 

  • Core hours: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM – 5:15 PM (in-office) 

  • Schedule adjusts based on event calendar, including evenings and weekends 

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed

The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $60,000 + incentive/bonus + benefits. 

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only and do not include bonus, or incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Carr Workplaces offers benefits.
