Plans and delivers client and prospect events across Commercial and Investment Banking, managing venues, vendors, budgets, contracts, communications, logistics, systems, and event calendars. Partners with marketing, creative, communications, and internal planning teams to execute high-profile events, track spending and metrics, produce client-facing materials, lead project teams, and improve event processes.

The Commercial and Investment Bank (CIB) team is part of JPMorgan’s larger Firmwide Events structure, responsible for delivering best in class events and programs for a range of clients inside and outside of the firm. The team manages the entire event planning process from conception through event completion. 


As a Commercial and Investment Banking Events Management Associate, you will work to implement and deliver world class events for our clients and prospects by leveraging strategic marketing plans that increase sales and grow market share for Global Banking. You will work closely with CIB Marketing Strategy partners including the Creative Services, Digital, Media Relations and Communications teams. You also will partner closely with internal Client and Conference Center planners to execute events within our private meeting spaces.


Job Responsibilities

  • Proactively support client engagement initiatives across Commercial Real Estate, Global Corporate Banking, and Innovation Economy sectors within CIB, ensuring best-in-class service delivery.
  • Diligently negotiate and manage vendor contracts for event elements, including venue sourcing, food and beverage planning, housing management, AV production, and transportation.
  • Strategically plan for and support high-profile customer events, encompassing idea generation, venue selection, budget management, problem solving, and 
  • Holistically provide strategic input and recommendations to planning partners, offering a comprehensive view of all CIB events.
  • Consistently execute against the client event calendar, ensuring the overall CIB client calendar remains current and accurate in Confluence.
  • Collaboratively engage with various functional areas of CIB Marketing to manage aspects of larger projects, sponsorships, and events for the business.
  • Efficiently support one or more functional systems the team utilizes, such as Confluence, Workfront, GlobalMeet, and Stova.
  • Meticulously develop and maintain accurate event budgets, negotiate costs, administer and reconcile event spend, payments, and invoicing, while keeping 
  • Creatively work with the Creative Services team to produce invitations, graphics, and other client-facing materials, including collateral, name badges, and web content.
  • Decisively lead project teams, direct multiple facets simultaneously, and identify areas for continued process improvement and efficiencies.
  • Reliably maintain project budgets, provide ongoing tracking to management and stakeholders, and ensure all data metrics are entered into appropriate systems in a timely and accurate manner
     


Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2+ years of event planning, project management, business management or corporate communications, in a client-facing role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to deliver messages clearly and succinctly
  • Demonstrated skill in writing announcements, invitations and letters
  • Expertise with Excel (data manipulation and analysis, equations, etc.) and PowerPoint (creating and editing presentations)
  • Ability to manage projects across businesses, functions and geographic locations
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, forward-thinking, proactive, and persistent
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, pivot quickly, and respond with urgency.
  • High degree of professionalism and flexibility
  • Demonstrates leadership, discretion, efficiency, and good judgment, and ambitious self-starter, ability to work both independently and, as a collaborative team member
