A member-only social club for individuals of the African Diaspora to increase connectivity, partnerships, and standards of living. KS will have 7 events in 2018 including dialogue-type events, TEDx related events, and a party. All events will take place in South Los Angeles in 2018.
Job Description- Face-to-face contact with members at events
- Conduct registration duties
- Assist in planning and preparation
- Assist in managing on-site venue preparation and breakdowns
- General troubleshooting and problem solving
- Act as liaison between company and vendors, speakers, sponsors
- Promote events
- All other duties as assigned
- Ability to learn and process information quickly
- Organized, team oriented, innovative
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Sense of humor
- Professional demeanor
- High computer literacy (Microsoft suite, social media mediums, internet research)
- Knowledge of/in the Black and African experience preferred
- This is an unpaid internship
- Approximately six hours a week (may be more the week of events)

What We Do
Kolor Society is a member-only social club for people of the African Diaspora, primarily ages 25–45, focused on building connectivity, partnerships, and improved standards of living. Based in South Los Angeles, it creates member-curated cultural, intellectual, and social programming, including quarterly signature events, monthly mixers, business and technology gatherings, and community-oriented initiatives such as a hackathon addressing local social problems.
