ETL Data Engineer (Alteryx)

We are looking for an ETL Data Engineer to support our client based in Tallahassee, Florida.

The project

TECKpert seeks to hire an ETL Data Engineer to support our client, a government agency based in Tallahassee, FL. In this role, you will support our clients Data & Analytics (D&A) Office. This role will focus on Alteryx-based data engineering, data modeling, ETL processes, and ensuring data quality, security, and governance. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Alteryx, SQL, Python, and Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler, with a strong background in data architecture and optimization.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and architectures using Alteryx Designer.
• Develop and maintain logical data models in Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) and maintain an ETL code repository.
• Optimize data processing workflows for efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
• Conduct data cleansing and ensure data quality through defined standards and monitoring procedures.
• Implement and configure SAS Viya analytics platform as needed.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and security best practices.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to improve data governance.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff in best practices for data modeling and engineering.

Compensation and Term 

This opportunity is for a full-time, position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $110,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire. 

Candidates are expected to work onsite at our client’s location. 

Qualifications you need

A successful candidate possesses or provides the following:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
• A minimum of three (3) years in data engineering, including Alteryx Designer, SQL, and ETL processes.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience with Alteryx Designer for ETL and data pipeline development.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience with SQL for querying and database management.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Python for data transformation and automation.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in relational database design and data modeling.
• Experience with SAS Viya, Qlik Sense, or other BI tools (Preferred).
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills.
