Description: Estimating Manager
Estimating Manager manages the daily activities of an estimating department
for an engineering organization. Being an Estimating Manager solicits
supplier bids and proposals for labor, material and equipment and evaluates
proposals to ensure they meet project specifications and budget requirement.
Responsibilities;
· Primary responsibility for the day to day
management of the Estimating Department.
· Primary responsibility for Loadmaster’s
operations as described above, including maintaining product atmosphere,
supervision of personnel and related matters (including hiring/termination, and
annual reviews).
· Primary responsibility of managing day to day;
estimating / inside sales.
· Assisting in the expansion of the customer
base, and development of marketing media.
· Provide engineering and manufacturing with
ideas and input on projects as required.
· Responsible for assisting the V.P. with management
reviews.
· Responsible for assisting the V.P. in
developing and primarily responsible for maintaining departmental KPI’s.
· Responsible for communicating with the V.P.
field services, engineering, projects, manufacturing, vendors and customers as
needed.
Skills;
· Ability to estimate material and labor.
· Create bill of material lists.
· Read and understand General Arrangement and ISO
Drawings.
· Ability to review and comprehend project
package and develop framework for bid.
· Must be able to effectively prioritize and
execute tasks in a fast pace environment.
· Proficient in reading of and interpreting
prints.
· Knowledge and experience estimating: Piping
Package, Pipe Racks, Knock down steel, and vessel skids.
